The Chess Olympiad is a biennial international chess tournament organized by FIDE and the local, currently the Hungarian Chess Federation. It brings together teams from countries around the world to compete in a prestigious and highly competitive event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organizers expect a record number of participating countries<\/a>: 198 in the open and 184 in the women’s sections, for a total of two thousand players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The significance of the Chess Olympiad lies in its role as one of the most important global chess tournaments, showcasing the talent of the best players from various nations. It has been held since 1927, and has grown in scale and prestige over the decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
